Made only from 1963 to 1964, the Ferrari 250 GT/L (250 GT Berlinetta Lusso) had an extremely short production life for the Italian manufacturer. The spacious two-seater is the last one of the 250 series and arguably one of the most elegant Ferrari designs.
A Columbo V12 engine of 2,953 cc with three Weber 36DCS carburettors developed 240 hp. With a 150mph top speed the 250 GT/L was the fastest passenger car of its day.
351 examples of the GT Lusso were produced before being replaced by the Ferrari 275 GTB. It originally sold for $13,375.
The 250 GT Lusso had a spacious interior, made possible by the forward position of the engine.
The Ferrari 250 GT/L shown is listed at RM Sotheby’s with an estimate of $1.8m to $2.2m
